About Lisa

My Background

My passion for photography started at the age of four, when I "rescued" a neighbor's camera from its demise.  I have been photographing the world around me ever since.  I can remember in those early days, the only place to get film for my Kodak Brownie camera was at the pharmacy in Kennebunkport, ME.  I still can remember the smell of opening a fresh roll of film!

As a teenager, I photographed events for local newspapers and organizations.  In college, I contributed to the school newspaper and yearbook.  Ultimately I was selected to be editor-in-chief of the yearbook senior year, earning my tution for a full semester (much to my parents delight!).  After college, I enjoyed a fast-paced career in high tech for 15 years, where I developed skills in both running a business as well as technology, which is very much a part of photography today.  When my son was born, I left high tech to pursue photography full time, and specialized in portraits, as that is what I most love to do.

About Lisa Tommaney Photography

My studio and outdoor studio gardens are located in the MetroWest area outside of Boston, where I provide custom portrait photography services for high school senior portraits, family photography, children's photography, newborn photography, business and publicity portraits (aka "headshots") as well as other photographic services.

I am known for both my keen eye for detail as well as an easy and relaxed approach to working with children and families. My philosophy is to make the experience a fun one, and the joy that comes from a genuinely good time will be reflected in the finished images.

Whether photographing in studio or my studio gardens (open June - October), I create beautiful portraits that are cherished for a lifetime.
